A Message from the ChairCOL Homas

Dear Fellow Federal Employees and Military Personnel of
the South Puget Sound,

I am very excited about serving as the 2011 Chair for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) of the South Puget Sound, during this 50th Anniversary of the CFC. The CFC is the largest charitable giving campaign in the world, brining in $7 billion since its inception, touching the lives of countless children, families and citizens in all walks of life. Our campaign that encompasses Pierce, Thurston and Lewis counties ensures that every federal employee and member
of our Armed Forces has the opportunity to give in a simple, efficient and easy manner.

Last year, despite an economy still struggling to improve, you heeded the call to reach out and help those in need. Your generosity resulted in a record-breaking campaign that generated over $1.45 million and resulted in our campaign being recognized as the most improved campaign nationwide. I want to thank each of the 10,901 Airmen, Soldiers, Postal employees and federal civilian workers that committed to providing much needed assistance to our community through over 2,500 charitable choices.

The demand on those charitable organizations continues to grow, helping numerous families inside and outside of our fences. Therefore, it is upon us to not relent, to make sure we make quality contact with each and every Soldier, Airmen, Postal Service employee and federal civilian agency employee to make sure that everyone is personally asked about the CFC, and given the opportunity to participate. Every donation whether using a paper form or online ensures worthy organization can continue to provide the programs and services that you care about. I am confident this will be a wonderful and fruitful year for the CFC. Thank you for taking the time to consider investing in the nation's greatest resource, our people.
